Tonight, I started thinking about my sorority sisters. I am so proud of them sometimes that I don’t know what to do with myself! To see them grow, change, and reveal who they are at their core is a blessing! There’s a lot of change between a college freshman and a college junior. I’ve seen several girls make such a good change that makes me smile like nothing else! I see them doing amazing things in their majors, our KAO house, the community, the world, and their walk with God! Their kindness, generosity of time and energy, and their willingness to help others– well, it’s satisfying. It gives me encouragement. The reality of Greek Life is this: what you get out of it, depends on WHAT YOU PUT IN. The benefits extend to every aspect of one’s life. I see my sisters willingness. I see my sisters sacrifice. I see my sisters determination. I see my sisters strong morals. I see my sisters succeed. I KNOW they will succeed because I have seen them in practice, here! There’s SO much I have left to do. There’s so much that I have left to learn. My dreams extend far beyond the things that I realize and acknowledge on ordinary days. I know that. All I’ve got do is reach out and GRAB IT! If I ever doubt, I’m going to look toward the girls around me.
Here’s my FAVORITE quote:
"She is your mirror, shining back at you with a world full of possibilities. She is your witness that see you at your worst and your best, and she loves you anyway. She is your partner in crime, your midnight companion, someone who knows when you are smiling even in the dark. She is your teacher, your defense attorney, your personal press agent, and even your shrink. She is your sorority sister." —Barbara Alpert
