Southern style, sweet memories, favorite movies and football

I ran across a Southern Living article this morning that caught my eye. Thankkk youuuuu, Twitter! You know when you find something that makes you reminice, smile, laugh and tear up - all at the same time? That's what happened to me when I saw that Southern Living has put together a few tailgating ideas!

Ole Miss supporters - and characters behind The Blind Side - one of my favorite movies!Sound familiar? That's right, Leigh Anne and Collins Touhy were featured for their Ole Miss gameday attire ideas. Have I ever told you how much I love Southern traditions? I do!

I used to joke all the time with the boy that one day, we might be just be the next Sean and Leigh Anne Touhey! With our allegiances to the Crimson Tide, of course. As I thought about such a fun memory, a tear welled up in my eyes. But mostly, I smiled and laughed. That was so good for my heart :)

Definitely check out the Southern Living article! There are also some other really neat ideas like these plates, which might be my latest obsession. Okay, they already are. They're perfect for tailgating too! Here's a peak:

I'd love to tell you that I'm all about college football because I love the sport. But I'm a girl's girl and that'd be a lie. Of course I love college football. Absolutely! I know the basics and I enjoy keeping up with the game. But I love the early Fall weather, gameday dresses, lunch at the Theta house, tailgating on the quad, children tossing the football with their daddies, Shirt Shop and the Locker Room gameday attire, band parties, Gallette's Yellowhammers, the sea of crimson and white and long-standing traditions! There's nothing quite like walking around the University of Alabama campus on gameday that'll make you feel like you're a part of something so much bigger. Southern hospitality at its finest!

And I can't help it! Here are most of my favorite Blind Side quotes:

Leigh Anne Touhy: You're right.
Sean: Excuse me? 'You're right?' How'd those words taste coming out of your mouth?

Leigh Anne Touhy: Like vinegar!

Sean: "She's like an onion, Michael. You have to peel her back one layer at a time."

Leigh Anne:
Sean and I have been talking and Michael, if you're gonna accept a football scolarship we think it should be to Tennesee. And I promise that I will be at every game cheering for you.
Michael Oher: Every game?
Leigh Anne: Every game! But I will not wear that gaudy orange, I will not! It is not on my colour wheel and I'm not gonna wear it.

Beth: Honey, you are changing that boy's life.
Leigh Anne: No. He's changin' mine.

Leigh Anne: If you so much as set foot downtown, you will be sorry. I'm in a prayer group with the D.A., I'm a member of the NRA and I'm always packing.
Alton: Whatchu packin? .22? A little Saturday night special?
Leigh Anne: Yep. And it shoots just fine every other day of the week too!

*P.S. I'm an Ole Miss fan, too. Crazy, I know! My guy friends say there's no way I can pull for two SEC teams in the same division. My love for the Rebels comes from my mom's side of the family originally from Oxford. Ever visited Oxford? You'll understand why my allegiances are split. It's a beautiful, unique Southern town - shopping and food on the square, a beautiful campus and so much history.

The Crimson Tide will be playing North Texas in Tuscaloosa this weekend. I won't be there, but I'll be cheering on my team in front of the TV! Happy gameday weekend, y'all!

RTR!
