ABOUT

Born and raised Southern in Dothan, Alabama, in the Southeastern part of the state. Choosing a college to attend was the easy part. What I didn't know was what I wanted to do once I got there! Quickly and assertively I told my father I’d never be a nurse, no matter how high the profession was in demand.  And my sweet mother told me over and over to register for public relations classes. Of course, I didn’t listen. As a freshman at Alabama, I was determined to carve a career in Interior Design. That path only lasted my first two semesters at the Capstone until I decided I wanted a more 'well-rounded' degree. By the next Fall, I'd decided to declare a general business major. One economics class and I threw that idea out the window! What happened? I finally took my mother’s advice.
At the University of Alabama, I honed my passion for public relations, interpersonal communication, journalism and design. The ever-changing public relations and communications fields just happen to coincide with my greatest passions for people, learning and details. My resume during the 'best four years of my life' includes Kappa Alpha Theta, the first Greek-letter Fraternity known among women. And campus ministry, at Westminster Fellowship. Both molded me and taught me immeasurable leadership skills that I believe are so important in life. I always say that 'keeping score' counts, but there's more than what's on paper and ink. Willingness to learn is always resume-worthy.
I want to learn new things and I never want to sit still. I love to see projects into fruition and working on a deadline is right up my alley! I may or may not have an over-zealous collection of glossy magazines. Needless to say, I'd love to work with a magazine one day!
Loves? Long talks with my sweet friends. Movies. Roadtrips. Live music. Gerber daisies. Southern Living. Hydrangeas. Coastal Living. Sunflowers. Being on and around the water! Writing. All things monogrammed and pretty. Cooking. Bottled Coke. Garden and Gun Magazine. Music? Anything from Van Morrison and John Lennon to George Strait and John Mayer. My best friends? They keep me laughing. Always dramatic stories and fun adventures! I'm inspired by all things related to the South, traveling aspirations, clothes and interior design. My life goal? To work with people. And when the time's right, I will proudly adorn the titles of wife and mother. The greatest jobs in the world :)
