Takin' care of bidness

On Monday morning, I left Sweet Home Alabama for a four day business trip. And y'all.... traveling and working is tiring! I had the great idea to forward my work email to my phone. It was a great idea! I handled several projects I've got going on, so they weren't stalled while I was on the road. Then again, I was working overtime multi-tasking. Loving it! Nonetheless, I've had an adventurous few days. Got to see UGA's college town. And I've got to tell you, I think I'd LOVE Athen's with a group of my girlfriends. I would. Downtown is the bomb.com! We ended up going to a little bar named Flanagan's and leaving before my age crowd would've arrived. But now, I'm old and my bedtime is well before 11p.m. or midnight! I think I need a weekend... or... TWO... in every SEC college town. Bucket list? Oh yeah! You bet! But most of all, I would've really enjoyed shopping in Athens. Too bad I was working when stores were open. Just another reason to return!

Have I ever told y'all how much I love traveling?

Anyway,

On Tuesday, we made our way from the Peach State to the Volunteer State! I'm not a fan of  the color orange or Tennessee's Volunteer mascot, but the beautiful topography of those Appalacian mountains, winding interstate roads, lakes and rivers and all that green farmland make my heart so freaking happy! So happy! As we made our way from Athen's, past Chattanoga and toward Nashville I reveled in God's creation of the South. There's no place like it. It's home to me. Venturing off the interstate to see beautiful mansions in the middle of wide-open farmland made me even more proud to be a Southern girl. Let me tell you!

Our next stop? Bell Buckle, Tennesse. You wanted to say Belt Buckle, TN, too. Didn't you? We stopped at the Bell Buckle Cafe for lunch. Bell Buckle is the Home of the RC Cola and Moonpie Festival. And the Webb School. It's a preperatory day & boarding school, of which an alumnus tried to recruit me after he saw a pamphlet I carried to our lunch table to feed my curiousity. No, sir. I'm not 14 or 15 actually. I just graduated from college! The University of Alabama to be exact. From your rival school. Annnnnd I'm trying to get away from small, tiny, microscopic towns. But I'd LOVE to come for a visit again soon! Kthanks!

But I ended my business roadtrip with a BANG in Nashville, Tennesse! Actually, my only time in Nashville was my last minute trip to the airport for a much faster trip home. Yippie! Kinda. Sorta. For a girl who swore she'd only fly commerical, my second {or technically third} flight in my whole life {in a private plane nonetheless} went off without a hitch! Nerves? Absolutely! Worth the experience? Completely. How else am I going to travel the world one day? No fear, baby girl, no fear.

Anyway, our event was actually in Franklin, Tennessee. I've been there a couple times before. And it looks like my family was holding out on me, because nobody ever told me about Historic Downtown Franklin till Wednesday! Shame on them.

First stop: Rock Paper Scissor! This girl has day dreamed about being an entreprenuer for as long as I can remember! And now I just need business man in my life. Jokes. My dream: One-third interiors and antiques. One-third apparel boutique. One-third stationery and gifts. Done, done and done.

Backkkkkk to Rock Paper Scissor. Pictures don't do this precious store justice! But I'll show you some of my favorites anyway! Here goes...

Second stop: Lulu! At first, I thought it was a chain. I wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiish it was a chain! That's a negative. This website's even to-die-for! But the store? A mix of Pottery Barn, Anthro and a gift store. Yes ma'am! That's what I'm talkin' about!

Third stop: Avec Moi won me over! It's an antique store without being too antique-y. Ya know? Just perfect. Loved the antique silverware! And home decor! The website is still pretty grassroots. It's worth a trip to Franklin!

Fourth stop? Walton's! I'm IN LOVE with this Antique and Estate Jewelery store! Check out their blog! I swear you'll fall in love too! Usually, my idea of an engagement ring is in the form of a down payment on a boat. But after being in this store, I really do love diamonds!

Antique Tiffany's ring! Perfect fit.
On my wishlist. A girl can dream...

Work hard. Play hard. make money. Spend money. Enjoy. Laugh. Find excitement in the little things. Dream. Discover. Be you. Find what you love. Love what you do.
